Keys to Success as a First-Year Doximity Partner
Your first year sets the foundation for your partnership. The organizations that see the strongest results early on don’t always have the biggest budgets. What they do have in common: they agree on goals from day one, learn the platform quickly, and plan past the next campaign. Here's how that plays out from kickoff to renewal.
Before launch: define success
Before your program goes live, get specific about what success means for your organization.
- Name the goal, not just the metric. Brand awareness, referral growth, and patient acquisition overlap, but each goal requires a different strategy. If "brand awareness" really means "more referrals," say so. That way, we can build a program that works for your definition of success.
- Bring your team in early. A short planning conversation with your implementation team before signing a contract helps set realistic timelines and keeps kickoff from feeling rushed.
- Bring a few content ideas. You don't need a fully polished content calendar, but think about what content you might have already, what you might be working on, or what you want to work on for your campaign. That way, our team can give suggestions and recommendations during the kickoff call.
During the first year: habits that keep you ahead
Use the dashboard often. Your dashboard is a one-stop shop for:
- Proofing tools to review and approve content before it goes live
- Content previews using the Newsfeed View (see exactly how content appears to physicians)
- Campaign reporting and audience insights so you see engagement as it happens*, before quarterly check-in
- *Pro tip: DocNews and Physician Spotlight campaign summaries are ready 24–48 hours after a campaign ends. You'll get an email when new reports are available in your dashboard.
- Best practices and inspiration from other partners in the Resource Hub
- Affiliation reports showing your affiliated providers across your system's specialties and locations
Plan content a quarter at a time. Partners who plan their content at least one quarter in advance find it easier to be consistent, launch campaigns on time, and sync Doximity content with other marketing campaigns, initiatives, or priorities. Whether it’s a visual calendar or a simple shared spreadsheet, this habit helps teams thrive!
Reuse good content. The "marketing rule of 7" holds that busy professionals usually need several exposures to a message before they absorb it and act. Running strong content again is part of the plan. Take a look at what's already on your website and see what could be adapted for physicians. Share reports beyond marketing. We’ll provide you with easy-to-read reports filled with valuable information. Partners often bring in Business Development or Analytics once campaign summaries are ready, because the data can support conversations well beyond the original campaign. Our team is always happy to help you report on program success to other stakeholders.
Take advantage of in-person opportunities. Industry events, site visits, and conferences like HAB strengthen the relationship, and ideas come up face to face that don't come up on a call.
Stay in touch between campaigns. Products and programs change. Keeping up with new products and updates, even when nothing is launching, keeps your account supported and means fewer surprises later.
Lean on our team. Our team is here for your success. Have a question about a tool, report, or concept? Just ask! That’s what we’re here for.
Pro tip: We have tons of great resources, too, from Doximity 101 to our comprehensive Resource Hub.
Looking forward: Year Two
- Start sooner than you think. We’re always ready to talk planning, budget, and goals for the upcoming year to ensure a seamless transition
- Give honest feedback. We genuinely want to know how things are going. Your feedback helps us improve and work better together, year after year.
- Meet in person for strategy when possible. We’re happy to meet your team on-site to strategize. We find in-person meetings generate incredibly useful conversations.
- Check your internal process. If something has changed on your side, like new vendor requirements or longer contracting timelines, let us know
We’re here to make sure your first year is a success. These habits can help build a steady, strong partnership that sees real results. When in doubt, reach out to your Client Success team.
P.S. If we could only recommend one habit from this list, it would be planning content at least one quarter in advance!
